We’re delighted to announce George Bradbury has joined Horizon. George is a Civil Engineer with a degree from Portsmouth University and more than two years professional experience. George will help expand our capabilities across the civil engineering sector, in particular detailed drainage design and highway design.
Horizon was pleased to join with Knights Brown to present a brief summary of current legislation and best practice applicable to the management of surplus soil from development sites. Case studies were used to illustrate both high performing projects and lessons that have been learnt, in particular the benefits gained from early team consultation in respect of robust and well planned material management.
We’re delighted to announce Jamie Howourth has joined Horizon. Jamie is a Geoenviromental Engineer with a Masters Degree in Environmental Consulting from Plymouth University and will help expand our capabilities across the geoenvironmental engineering sector.
Dr Hailey Tamblyn and Alex Large are celebrating their one-year anniversary with Horizon. A year in and we’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received and would like to thank everyone who has played a part in our successful first twelve months.
Horizon Director Alex Large has been registered as a Fully Accredited SoBRA Risk Assessor on the Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment Register. The SoBRA scheme has recently been developed to identify individuals possessing the critical technical, scientific and communication skills required to design, perform and/or critically evaluate land contamination risk assessments.
Horizon Director Dr Hailey Tamblyn successfully renewed her Landfill WAMITAB Continuing Competence Certificate in February 2017 thereby demonstrating her technical ability to oversee the operation of a waste facility under an environmental permit.
Following introduction of the National Quality Mark Scheme for Land Contamination (www.claire.co.uk/projects-and-initiatives/nqms) we are pleased to confirm that Horizon Director Alex Large has successfully passed the required examination and is now a “Suitably Qualified Person”. The aim of the NQMS is to provide increased confidence and improved quality of submissions made under regulatory regimes, particularly planning applications, related to previously used land.
Dr Hailey Tamblyn and Alex Large have joined Horizon to broaden our geoenvironmental and geotechnical service offering. Hailey is a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) specialising in advising clients on best value waste management options and supporting them to realise value from challenging sites. Alex is a Chartered Water & Environment Manager (C.WEM) and a registered Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC) specialising in site investigation, environmental and human health risk assessment, remediation and waste management.
